越南政府要求服务商安装专门的软件进行网络审查,但并未透露任何细节。人权活动人士认为这会造成对互联网的审查。

The government of Vietnam has mandated the installation of a special software to authenticate systems on network, but the details are not disclosed. Human rights activists worry that it may be used to censor the Internet usage.

Turkey has banned the usage of Google and many of its services, but no clear reasons have been given. Also, Facebook is banned in Turkey.

A famous US technology blog, Mashable.com, is now blocked in China. The reason might be that it reported the block of Foursquare in China.

China's government has published a white paper, claiming the openness of China's Internet. Ironically, in the English version, it translate micro blog into Twitter (already fixed now), which can not be accessed in China at all. Moreover, the statistics in this whitepaper suggests that most of the messages posted are removed.

Google's top lawyer, David Drummond, said on Wednesday that Internet censorship is an unfair barrier to free trade, and Google is asking the U.S. and European governments to press China to lift the censorship.

The Australian Attorney-General's Department confirmed that a data retention regime is under discussion now. It requires ISPs to record customers' web browsing history for a certain period of time, and access for law enforcement is provided.
